In doing many staff institutes and staff development days over the years, Joan Frye Williams and I have noted that there
are three directions these events seem to take:
1.) Help motivate a staff that's grown bored, lethargic,
disenchanted, or unclear on library objectives.
2.) Prepare a staff for major changes: technology, budget
cuts, personnel, community culture
3.) Congratulate, celebrate, and challenge a successful staff that needs
some new goals
We always work with the sponsor of the event to ensure that what we present is in sync with the institution's
needs and goals. As with keynote speeches and consulting practice, there is no single approach that works best, and there is no cookie
cutter waiting to be wielded.
George and Joan are available as a team or individually to lead or speak at your
event.
